It’s the beginning of 2012 and I just returned from an amazing trip to Gambia, West Africa, where I led a group of 8 people in a multi-cultural drum, dance and safari adventure.
One evening we were sitting together by the Gambia River talking about our goals for 2012 when I looked across the savannah at the setting sun. Here’s the remarkable photo I captured of the golden sun behind a beautiful Tree.
And then it hit me – this is how I want to spend 2012 – with this deep sense of inner calm and joy I have right now gazing at this beautiful African Tree of Life!
Now as many you know, I teach the Tree of Life as a spiritual path of so I am always connecting the roots, trunk and branches with my physical, emotional and spiritual vitality.

As I travel around the world, I’ve noticed that many indigenous cultures train their children in the “Earth Mysteries” so they can connect with nature and treat nature as deeply sacred.
